Health and Business in Thanet

Health and Business in Thanet (HABIT) has been formed to include cross sector businesses, statutory agencies (NHS, Local Authorities & Police) local communities and the voluntary sector to advise on action, raise awareness and share best practice that will promote health and wellbeing in education, training, business and employment.

It is a collective drive to determine how best to promote health and care services to the population and encourage self-management of lifestyle, including healthy eating and exercise.

The emerging programme of work will be wide-ranging, high profile and the group will seek to ensure that it is adequately resourced. It will involve businesses including SME's, statutory agencies and the voluntary sector in East Kent. It will seek to galvanise existing resources where possible and seek to secure additional resources to deliver agreed areas of focus.

The group will play a vital role in helping the programme capture and make use of their insights into the views and experiences of the local population, ensuring that local people's needs and public concerns are taken into account when setting the priority areas of focus.

The group has an ambitious programme of work and make use of their insights into the views and experiences of the local population, ensuring that local people's needs and public concerns are taken into account when setting the priority areas of focus.
